Steps You Can Take
There is still time to take precautions
before the depression arrives full force. But time is running
short.
Ironically, many of the steps that one
should take to prepare for depression are financially extremely
sound, and will provide good fortune even if there is no
depression. It would be like buying fire insurance on your home
and then getting the money back at the end of the term because
your house did not burn and you didn't need to use the
insurance. You win in either situation.
Preparing for depression is similar. There
really isn't a downside to preparing, and the upside can be
substantial. However, only those who actually take action will
be the ones who are truly prepared. The worst thing you could do
would be to read about preparing, understand the need to do so,
and then put off preparations until a more convenient time.
Unfortunately, the convenient time will
likely arrive too late to be of any practical, timely use.
You'll be kicking yourself for not acting sooner. It cannot be
stressed highly enough that most of the preparations involve no
risk whatsoever, and make good financial sense - depression or
not.
The simple nature of the economy and the
current situation is that not everyone can take these steps.
There is only room for a minority. Therefore, it would be wise
to takes action early rather than the last minute. You may find
waiting until the last minute will mean that it's simply too
late to take certain precautions.
The following articles highlight different
avenues of proactive preparations that you can take along with
detailed steps within each.
